National Leader of Education (NLE) - Lisa Wigglesworth

Lisa Wigglesworth was designated an NLE in June 2016.  She has nine years experience as a Headteacher in two different primary schools.  As well as holding a Masters in Education, specialising in SEN since 2003, she was also awarded the NPQH in 2004.  Since 2008, she has completed the role of  Early Years Moderator on behalf of Warrington Local Authority annually. Lisa's teaching experience began in  Surrey, continuing in Wiltshire and then in Warrington.

Hannah Fairhurst

Hannah Fairhurst has ten years experience as a teacher and has been an Assistant Headteacher for Key Stage 2 (with responsibility for Maths and English) since 2012. Initially, she started her teaching career as a secondary English teacher teaching KS3 and 4.

Glenda Standing

Glenda Standing was appointed to the role of EYFS/KS1 Assistant Head teacher at Callands Primary School in 2012. She has 7 years experience in a leadership role as she was SENCO and EYFS/KS1 coordinator for three years in her previous school. She gained the SEN National Accreditation award in SEN in 2012 and also gained an award for Forest School Leader in 2014. Glenda began her teaching career in Swansea in 2003, moving to Liverpool and then to Warrington. She has experience teaching across all phases of the primary school with her specialism being in EYFS and KS1.

Clare Bootland

Clare has been a primary school teacher for ten years. She has worked at Callands Community Primary School for four years, (3 years in year 5 and currently in year 6).  Previous to this she worked in County Durham at a small school of approximately 90 children, where she worked in a mixed 3/4 class. However, her overall experience includes teaching EYFS through to Y6.

She is an experienced Literacy Co-ordinator and Key Stage One Lead.  She is currently French co-ordinator.  She has a degree in European Administration, which included living in France for a period of seven months whilst completing a work placement.

Johanna Brinkworth

After achieving a First Class Degree in Education and Early Years she went on to complete an Early Years/KS1 PGCE and qualified as a teacher in 2012. She took her first teaching position in September 2012, teaching a Reception class and has worked in Early Years education for four consecutive years. During the past four years she has developed  her skills in reflection on practice and has made successful improvements to her teaching, assessment and environment to improve standards and outcomes for all children and has been fundamental in the improvements in the EYFS at Callands.  She temprarily led the Early Years Foundation Stage most notably during the schools' most recent inspection in March 2016, when it was graded outstanding. Over the past three years she has also worked collaboratively with colleagues to develop  and lead the PSHE curriculum.

Nicola Williams

Nicola Williams has been working at Callands for 11 years and has taught across the key stages from Year 1 to Year 4. Throughout her teaching career, she has led Physical Education, English and Computing. She is passionate about her role as a middle leader as she is always looking for ways to develop staff and her subject area to ensure all children reach their true potential. Working towards her NPQML qualification currently is enabling her to develop her leadership skills further.

Nicola is a co-opted member of the governing body. By seeing the school run on a daily basis she is able to give an inside perspective of the strengths in the school and areas that need developing.

Amy Langford

Amy is currently a  Year Six teacher at Callands Community Primary School and has been in this role for three years.  Prior to this Amy worked at anopther school in Warrington  teaching all year groups, from EYFS to Year Six as PPA cover teacher and then class teacher in Y4, 5 and 6. She also completed one to one English and Maths support sessions for targetted  children where she was employed directly by Warrington Borough Council. Amy has a BA(Hons) degree in Primary Education and History. Although her passion lies with engaging History teaching across the Key Stages, she has been Design Technology lead at Callands since 2013. She has thoroughly enjoyed extending her knowledge and experience in this area and now enjoys sharing this with others at cluster meetings with schools from across Warrington.

Julie Lee

Julie Lee has varied teaching experience and has taught Nursery and Reception classes in Yorkshire and EYFS – Y3 at Callands.   She has worked at Callands School for the past 21 years.  Julie has held different leadership roles in her career including Science Co-ordinator, Early Years Co-ordinator, Healthy Schools and   Every Child Counts TLR postholder  and is currently the Art Middle Lead. She has led the School Council at Callands for many years.  Julie is also a Teacher Governor for Callands Primary School for the past few years.

Amanda Gardner

An experienced teacher and subject leader, who has been a class teacher in key stages 1 and 2 and also in EYFS.  Amanda is RE subject leader at Callands and currently provides PPA and Leadership cover across the school.  She completed a degree in English with Drama at the University of Lancaster before progressing to study for her PGCE at Manchester Metropolitan University.  She also holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Teaching English to Adults and has extensive experience teaching and managing English language courses to children and adults for whom English is an additional language.

Christopher Kirk

Christopher Kirk has thirteen years experience of teaching across Key Stage Two. He has a BA(Hons) in Geography which is used to lead the subject throughout the school. As well as being an NQT Mentor as part of the Great Sankey Teaching Alliance, he has worked as a Senior Leader responsible for Raising Achievement across the school. He has also completed  the Leading From The Middle course and coached other middle leaders as part of the same programme. In September 2015, he became a qualified Level 3 Forest School Practitioner and leads Forest School sessions in KS1 and KS2.

Claire Whittaker

Claire Whittaker has been a primary school teacher for two years. She started her full time teaching career here at Callands Community Primary School, including the completion of her NQT year. Claire has a BA (Honours) degree in Primary Education with QTS and has had many placements in SEN schools whilst at University.

In 2015 she became part of our Middle Leader team focusing on Physical Education and School Sport. She has recently started to organise after-school club opportunities for our children, incorporating local and wider club links.

Rob Soulsby

Robert Soulsby has been teaching in primary schools since qualifying in 1989 with a Bachelor in Education (Hons), specialising in Art. He has fulfilled many roles as a Middle and Senior leader, coordinating Art, Music and Maths. Heather Dobson

Heather joined Callands Primary School in January 2013. Since qualifying as a primary school teacher in 2008, she has worked in a range of schools across both Key Stage One and Two.  Following relocation from Leicestershire, this has involved working alongside children, colleagues and communities from diverse backgrounds which has further aided her development as a successful teacher.  Throughout her teaching career, she has led French, ICT and currently co-leads History.   She is passionate about educating, enabling and empowering all young people so that they can achieve their full potential.
