Claire Whittaker (Lead Practitioner)
In February 2019, Claire achieved the accredited SSAT (The Schools Network) lead practitioner status. She has clearly demonstrated that she has led impact with others and inspired excellence through supporting behaviour management, pedagogy, curriculum, assessment and professional behaviours. Claire can present her ideas effectively to large groups of practitioners and has strategies to determine how successful she has been in leading learning. She is able to draw on an increasingly wide range of strategies to ensure that communication is as effective as possible. In working with colleagues, Claire has shown a high level of coaching skills and an ability to motivate and inspire. She is able to draw on an ever wider range of strategies to ensure that all colleagues are engaged in the work she is carrying out with them. Claire’s professional confidence enables her to lead change and make a significant impact within and beyond Callands School. As a highly effective leader of practice and coach, she has motivated and inspired colleagues from different organisations. She has identified professional goals and identified excellent practice. Claire is continually developing her communication skills and knowledge and understanding of practice in the classroom to achieve the best possible outcomes both within and outside her organisation.
Claire has identified and modelled, to colleagues outside her team, well-judged strategies to enable students and practitioners to learn exceptionally well and make good progress. Reflection, enquiry and the consideration of resources and training are central to the continuing development of her own practice and her leadership of others' practice. She has developed highly effective coaching and communication skills so that she can enable colleagues to lead practice with different audiences in different contexts beyond her own school. Claire’s skills as a negotiator have helped her to reach professional agreement with others and to strike the balance between leading and promoting co-ownership. She has taken opportunities to form networks in a variety of contexts and has taken action to ensure they are sustainable and enable joint practice development.
Chris Kirk (Lead Practitioner)

When working with colleagues, Chris demonstrates a high level of coaching skills, motivating and inspiring others. He draws on an ever wider range of strategies to ensure that all colleagues are engaged in the work he does with them. He uses a range of coaching skills to lead practice and challenge others to develop networks and lead learning. Chris understands the importance of continually building on these skills. He helps others both within and outside Callands to identify professional goals, as a step towards developing skills and understanding. Chris’ professional confidence enables him to lead change and make a significant impact within Callands Primary, along with other schools in the local area. As a highly effective leader of practice and coaching, he motivates and inspires colleagues.
